"We surround ourselves with material things that are invested with memories but can only stand for what we have lost." (Peter Schwerger)

People and things stimulates our memories. This project moves away from the object and instead focuses on the shadow left by that object, on what is the 'afterimage of absence'. A shadow is taken as a metaphor of absence creating a new visual experience by erasing the existing object and keeping the shadow, we are left with the feeling of emptiness and this can evoke the memory of how we felt and how we responded to the surroundings in which we were at the time.
